Frequently asked questions
Is the Individual plan really free?▾
Yes. Verified educators get the entire curriculum for free for their own learning, plus the tools to run up to 5 classrooms with 30 students each. No credit card required. Verification is the only gate.
What counts as a verified educator?▾
Anyone with a school email on a .edu domain is auto-verified the moment they confirm their email. If you teach somewhere without a .edu domain, you can still apply with supporting documents (school ID, letter from administration) and our team will review.
Can students access content outside their assigned classroom track?▾
Yes, at normal student pricing. Joining your classroom unlocks the classroom's primary track for free. Any other tracks are purchased the same way any other student would.
Does LastWrite comply with FERPA?▾
Yes. Student data managed under educator and institution accounts is not shared with third parties and is handled in compliance with FERPA. Students under 13 using LastWrite through an institution are covered by the institution's agreement, not a direct student-to-LastWrite relationship.
Can a school switch from School to District plan?▾
Yes. Contact us at [email protected] and we will move your existing institution record over and bill the difference pro-rata. Existing classrooms, students, and progress carry over untouched.
How does billing work for districts?▾
District plans are quote-based and invoiced annually. The admin sets the renewal date and session credit allocation when the contract is signed. There is no Stripe subscription on a District plan, although it can be set up if preferred.
